The Ministère de la Santé RDC reports in an update on June 13, 72 new confirmed Ebola cases and 29 deaths have been reported.
56 of the cases were reported in Ituri province: Mongbwalu (25), Bunia (13), Rwampara (6), Nyankunde (5), Komanda (3), Nizi (2), Damas (1), Nia-Nia (1); while North Kivu reported 16 additional confirmed cases: Butembo (11), Katwa (4), Mabalako (1).
This brings the cumulative confirmed totals to 782 cases and 181 deaths, for a case fatality of 23.1%.
Two new health zones are now reporting cases- Nia-Nia (Ituri) and Mabalako (North Kivu), bringing the total health zones affected to 31. The epidemic continues to spread geographically. An immediate response is being deployed in these new areas.
Health officials say the high number of detected cases also reflects more active community surveillance.

Five new patients declared recovered from EVD- Rwampara (3), Mongbwalu (1), Mambasa (1), bringing the total recovered to date to 40.
