Argentina dengue in the 2024-2025 season
4 cases linked to organ transplantation confirmed
During the 2024-2025 season (Epi week 31/2024 to Epi week 5/2025), 28,815 suspected cases of dengue were reported in Argentina in the National Health Surveillance System, of which 467 were confirmed. A total of 443 cases did not have a history of travel (94.9%).
In addition, four cases associated with organ transplants were confirmed in Buenos Aires, CABA and Santa Fe.
24 cases were confirmed with a history of travel to Brazil, Cuba, Mexico, Maldives, Thailand, India, Peru, Paraguay and Colombia.
Concerning the distribution of the serotypes found, a higher prevalence of DEN-1 (50.2%) is observed, Cases of DEN-2 reach 47%.
During Epi week 4 2025, the first case of dengue with serotype DEN-3 was reported, without a history of travel, in the department of Rosario, Santa Fe.
The remaining DEN-3 and the case associated with DEN-4 correspond to notifications of cases with a history of travel abroad.
