The Argentina Ministry of Health reports through the National Epidemiological Bulletin (BEN) for epidemiological week (EW) 11, 2,845 confirmed dengue cases to date during the 2024/2025 dengue season—which began in EW 31 of 2024.
In addition, 42,892 suspected cases of dengue have been reported during the same period.
Of these, 97.5% had no travel history and are distributed by region as follows: 1,835 in the Central Region, 523 in the Northwest Region (NOA), 338 in the Northeast Region (NEA), 28 in Cuyo, and 49 in the Southern Region. The 72 cases with a travel history correspond to people who had traveled to Brazil, Cuba, Mexico, Venezuela, Thailand, India, Peru, Paraguay, and Colombia.
Additionally, four cases associated with organ transplants were confirmed in Buenos Aires, CABA, and Santa Fe.
Regarding the distribution of the serotypes found, a higher prevalence of DEN-1 was observed (63.2%). DEN-2 cases reached 36.3%, mainly due to reports from the provinces of Córdoba, Formosa, and Santa Fe.
During EW 4, the first case of dengue with serotype DEN-3, with no travel history, was reported in the department of Rosario, Santa Fe.
The remaining DEN-3 cases and the case associated with DEN-4 correspond to reports of cases with a travel history abroad (Mexico, Brazil, Thailand, and Cuba).
