According to Italian health officials and as of September 25, 36 confirmed locally-transmitted dengue cases have been reported in Italy--this includes 25 in the province of Lodi, 2 cases in the province of Lodi and 9 cases with exposures in different parts of the metropolitan city of Rome.
All cases in which the health status is known have recovered or are improving.
In addition, 200 cases of Dengue imported from other countries have also been reported.
Prior to 2023, Italy reported 10 autochthonous dengue cases in the Veneto region in 2020.
France
Public Health France has reported 17 locally-transmitted dengue cases so far in 2023 on the Mainland. In the Paca region, an outbreak of 4 cases of dengue fever was identified in Gardanne in Bouches-du-Rhône.
In addition, one indigenous case of dengue whose place of contamination may be in Nice in the Alpes-Maritimes or in the Var in Castellet or La Garde.
In the Occitania region, an outbreak of 11 cases was identified in a limited area of ​​Perpignan in the Pyrénées Orientales this summer.
Officials also report one case in Rochefort-du-Gard in Gard.
1,015 imported dengue cases were reported in Mainland France to date.

In Catalonia, public health authorities confirmed a case of locally acquired dengue was detected in southern Catalonia in late August.
