Bangladesh: 5 Nipah virus cases/deaths in 2024

The Bangladesh Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control And Research (IEDCR) has reported five Nipah virus cases in 2024. All five cases were fatal.

From 2001, when the first cases were reported in Bangladesh, through 2024, 344 Nipah cases have been reported, resulting in 245 deaths (CFR 71.2%).
