The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) in Dhaka, Bangladesh reported an additional 782 dengue fever hospitalizations in the past 24 hours, putting the total cases over the 50,000 case mark for the year (50,689).
In addition, three more dengue deaths were reported, bring the death total to 215.
During the past 24 hours, Barishal division saw the most cases (174), followed by Dhaka division (145) and Dhaka North City Corporation (118).
Barishal division reported the most cases since the beginning of the year with 14,060, while Dhaka South City Corporation has reported the most deaths with 104.

After reporting more than 10,000 cases each in July and August, Bangladesh reported 15,866 cases in September. In the first 6 days of October, 3,347 dengue cases have already been reported.

September also accounted for the most deaths in Bangladesh this year with 76.
As many as 575 people died due to dengue in Bangladesh in 2024.
The DGHS said that 101,214 dengue cases and 100,040 recoveries were reported in Bangladesh during the same period. As many as 1,705 people died due to dengue in 2023, making it the deadliest year on record.
