The Brazil Ministry of Health is reporting more than 1,000 dengue-related deaths already in 2025.
As of May 17, officials report 1,008 dengue deaths in the country, with another 817 cases under investigation.
Nearly 1.4 million probable dengue cases have been reported to date nationally.
The bulk of cases and deaths are reported from the state of São Paulo- 69% of the deaths: 693 deaths and more than 770,000 infected.

Following São Paulo in fatal cases distantly include Paraná, with 84 deaths, and Minas Gerais, with 73.
Concerning cases, Minas Gerais is in second place with 147,000, followed by Paraná (108,000).
