Health authorities in the Federal District report a confirmed measles case in a woman in her 30s with a history of international travel.
In a statement, the department reported that the patient did not need to be hospitalized and the disease progressed without complications.
"The patient presented the first symptoms on February 27 and the red spots on her skin appeared on March 1. Confirmation occurred after laboratory tests carried out at the Central Laboratory of the Federal District (Lace-DF) and at the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation of Rio de Janeiro (Fiocruz-RJ)."
According to the Federal District Health Department, five cases of measles were recorded in 2020, all imported, like the one recorded this week. The last case of the disease with local transmission was identified in the Federal District in 1999.
