Dengue
Four additional locally acquired dengue fever cases were reported during the weekending September 14, according to the Florida Department of Health (DOH).
In addition to the case I previously reported on in Palm Beach County, one additional case was reported in Miami-Dade County and two in Pasco County.
This brings the total year to date to 35 locally acquired dengue cases—Hillsborough (3), Manatee, Miami-Dade (22), Monroe (3), Orange (2), Palm Beach, and Pasco (3) counties.
The majority of cases (77%) were serotyped by PCR as DENV-3.
As far as travel associated dengue reported in Florida to date, 36 additional cases were reported last week, bringing the total to 515 for the year.
Miami-Dade (233), Broward (69), Hillsborough (33) and Palm Beach counties have reported the most. 34 of Florida’s 67 counties have reported travel associated dengue.
Six cases met the criteria for severe dengue (dengue shock syndrome [DSS] or dengue hemorrhagic fever [DHF]).
West Nile virus
Officials reported one additional human West Nilevirus case last week in Bay County, bringing the total to four—Duval, Marion, and Walton counties reporting cases earlier in the summer.
In addition, five asymptomatic positive blood donors were reported year to date.

Chikungunya
An additional travel associated chikungunya case was reported last week, bringing the total this year to seven. No locally acquired cases have been reported this year.
Oropouche fever
State health officials 22 additional travel associated cases last week. This brings the total cases to 70 year to date.
Counties reporting cases include: Broward (3), Duval, Hillsborough (11), Lee (4), Miami-Dade (41), Orange (2), Palm Beach (2), Pasco (2), Polk (2), Sarasota, and St. Lucie. All cases were linked to travel from Cuba.
