Bangladesh
The Bangladesh Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) reported an additional 450 dengue fever cases in the past 24 hours, bringing the total cases year to date to 12,020.
In addition, one more death was reported, bringing the death toll this year to 39.
The number of cases reported in July alone is 5,916.
Sri Lanka
The Sri Lanka National Dengue Control Unit (NDCU) reports in 2026 alone, there have been over 79,000 cases, with numbers rising following the south-west monsoon. Fifty-seven deaths linked to the disease – first recorded in 1962 – have been reported.
This includes 23,641 cases reported in July to date.
The Western Province remains the hardest-hit region, accounting for nearly 53 per cent of infections nationwide, with the districts of Gampaha and Colombo recording the highest number of patients, 40 percent between the two.
