The dengue fever outbreak in Bangladesh increased by about 1,000 cases since our last report one week ago.
On June 27, the case tally reached 5,628, up from 4,680 cases on June 20.
On Sunday, June 28, an additional 172 cases were recorded, bringing the most update total to 5,800 year to date.
The death toll has nearly doubled in the past week, rising from seven to 13.

Barishal district has reported 1,550 total cases, followed by Chattogram with 1,088 cases.

Mymensingh district and Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) both reported 3 deaths each.
In the month of June through the 28th, 2,603 cases have been reported, or 45 percent of the annual total of 5,800.
