The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (NCDC) reports 95 total suspected dengue fever cases during the first six months of 2026.
Seven states have reported cases- Edo (39) and Sokoto (34) states jointly accounted for 76.8% of the 95 suspected cases reported. Of the suspected cases, 9 (9.5%) were confirmed (Sokoto-8 and Edo-1).
Parasites: Soil-transmitted helminths with Nigerian parasitologist, Bukunyi (Mercy) Ajanaku, MS.
No deaths were reported.
This compares to 274 total cases, including 92 confirmed and one death during the same period in 2025.
