Dengue fever
In a follow-up on the dengue fever situation in the Philippines, the Department of Health (DOH) reported another approximately 14,000 dengue cases in the past two weeks.
From January 1 to March 15 this year, 76,425 dengue cases were recorded, or a 78 percent increase over the same period in 2024.
Calabarzon continues to be the most affected region with 15,108 cases, followed by the National Capital Region (13,761 cases) and Central Luzon (12,424 cases).
The DOH recently opened dengue fast lanes in all its hospitals nationwide to provide immediate medical attention to symptomatic patients.
The Philippine Health Insurance Corporation recently raised its coverage rate for the cost of hospitalization for severe dengue cases up to 193% or P47,000, from the previous P16,000 coverage rate.
Measles-Rubella
The Department of Health (DOH) urged the public to get children under 2 years old vaccinated against measles-rubella after recording a rise in cases during the first 2.5 months of 2025.
DOH said a total of 1185 measles-rubella cases have been recorded from Jan. 1 to March 15 this year, up by 27 percent from 930 cases logged in the same period in 2024.
The National Capital Region (Manila) has seen 295 cases, followed by Central Luzon with 150 cases and Calabarzon with 144 cases.
802 cases, or 68 percent of the total were not vaccinated.
