Florida dengue: 4 additional locally acquired cases reported in past week

The Florida Department of Health reported four additional locally acquired dengue fever cases during the past week from Miami-Dade County, Pasco County (2) and the first case of the year in Polk County.
This brings the state total to 59 autochthonous cases since the beginning of the year- Broward (2), Hillsborough (4), Manatee, Miami-Dade (34), Monroe (3), Orange (2), Palm Beach (3), Pasco (8), Polk, and Sarasota counties.
The bulk of the cases have been serotyped as DENV-3 (42), while lesser amounts of DENV-1 and DENV-4 have been detected.
In addition, thirty-two additional travel associated cases of dengue were reported this past week, putting the total to 720 this year.
Health officials also reported four additional human cases of West Nile Virus (WNV) infection this week in Duval, Marion, Polk, and Seminole counties. This brings the total human cases to 10 in the state this year, plus eight asymptomatic positive blood donors.
Lastly, two additional travel associated Oropouche fever cases were reported, bringing the state total to 90- Broward (3), Collier, Duval, Hillsborough (12), Lee (5), Marion, Miami-Dade (53), Orange (3), Palm Beach (2), Pasco (3), Polk (4), Sarasota, and St. Lucie. The country of origin was Cuba for all 90 cases.
