In a follow-up on the locally transmitted arbovirus infections in France, as of August 5, French health authorities have reported 63 locally transmitted chikungunya, 9 local dengue fever cases and 3 West Nile virus cases.
They are located in the regions of Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur, Corsica, Occitanie, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes and, for the first time, Grand Est and Nouvelle-Aquitaine.
To date, three autochthonous cases of West Nile were identified in 2025.
