The Czech Republic National Institute of Public Health (SZU) reports 1,053 cases during the first seven months of 2025. This compares with 168 cases reported during the same period in 2024.
In fact, 636 cases were reported for the whole of last year.
This is the highest number of cases reported in the Czech Republic in 15 years.
Prague has reported the most cases with 370, followed by the Central Bohemian Region (181), and the Moravian-Silesian Region (113).
