The Mexico Ministry of Health has reported three additional measles deaths in 2026, bringing the total to 13 year to date.
In addition, this brings the total deaths since January 2025 to 40 in the country.
The 40 deaths are distributed across 11 states: Chihuahua (21), Jalisco (5), Mexico City (3), Zacatecas (3), Durango (2), Chiapas (1), Guerrero (1), Michoacán (1), Sinaloa (1), Sonora (1), and Tlaxcala (1).

The total confirmed cases reported in the country since the beginning of the year now stands at 10,460 through May 5.
Jalisco state has recorded the most cases with 5,950, followed by Mexico City with 893 and Chiapas 789.
In the cumulative count of confirmed cases for 2025–2026, all 32 states have reported measles cases distributed across 486 municipalities.
