Mongolia recorded 119 new measles cases in the past 24 hours, bringing the national total to 3,161, the country's National Center for Communicable Diseases (NCCD) reported on May 25.
On May 15, the number of reported cases stood at 1,891, an increase of 1,270 cases in just ten days.
Meanwhile, 93 more measles patients have recovered from the disease, bringing the total number of recoveries to 1,997, the NCCD said in a statement.
According to Mongolian doctors, the cases are mainly concentrated in secondary schools, leading health authorities to urge students, educators, and those who work closely with children to get vaccinated to protect themselves and others.
In light of this, the NCCD advised parents to protect their children from this potentially serious disease by administering both doses of the measles vaccine.
