In the National Capital Region (NCR) of the Philippines, Mandaluyong City's Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit confirmed on Monday afternoon, June 29, a local case of mpox, aka monkeypox.
“The situation is being actively managed, and the public is encouraged to remain informed through official government channels,” the advisory said.
The office also reminded the public to refrain from sharing unverified information and to respect the privacy of the individual involved.
Necessary measures, including case investigation, contact tracing, and monitoring, are immediately implemented to prevent the spread of the disease.
In addition, the Philippines Department of Health (DOH) said it has only reported 55 mpox cases in the country as of June 13, which is 79 percent lower (205 cases) than 2025.

The City Government of Mandaluyong reminds the public:
Wash your hands frequently with soap and clean water or alcohol-based hand sanitizer.
Avoid direct skin-to-skin contact with people with unexplained rashes or skin lesions.
Cover the mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing, and maintain good personal hygiene.
Consult your doctor immediately if you experience fever, arthritis (swollen lymph nodes), or unexplained rashes or skin lesions.
