As of 15 September 2025, Samoa Ministry of Health has recorded a total of 13,543 clinically diagnosed dengue cases since January, including 4,004 lab-confirmed cases, with six dengue-related deaths.
Children under 15 years account for 73% of cases, and the circulating serotypes remain predominantly DENV-1 (91%) and DENV-2 (9%).
Case numbers decreased by 25% (218) compared to the previous EpiWeek, with 650 new clinical cases of which 164 are lab confirmed. Hospital admissions decreased by 38%, with 73 new admissions, 84 discharges, and 21 patients still hospitalized, none in ICU.
The most affected districts were Anoamaa 1 (56 cases) in Upolu and Palauli 2 (13 cases) district in Savai’i.
The Ministry of Health continues its whole-of-government response through the Integrated Vector Control Committee, focusing on source reduction, environmental sanitation, and widespread risk communication.
Since 24 August 2025, there has been a sustained decrease in reported clinically diagnosed cases, and since 31 August 2025, a decline in laboratory-confirmed cases.
