In a follow-up to a story I reported Saturday, The Ministry of Health of the Kingdom of Cambodia report an additional confirmed case of human H5N1 avian influenza.
The most recent case is a 69-year-old man from Pbat village, Prey Chrouk commune, Puok district, Siem Reap province in northwest Cambodia.
Currently, the patient is receiving intensive care from a team of doctors, the health ministry stated.
Officials also noted the patient had raised 50-60 chickens and the chicken have been dying for about two weeks.
This is the second human case reported in Cambodia in 2024 to date.
