The Department of Disease Control and Prevention calls on the current dengue fever epidemic season, with hot weather and occasional rainfall, which is conducive to the breeding of vector mosquitoes and the spread of diseases. Removing the breeding sources is the fundamental method to prevent dengue fever. The public is requested to implement "patrol, pour, clean and brush". Frequently inspect whether there are water containers inside and outside the home. The walls of water storage containers should be brushed at least once a week and inverted or cleared when not in use. Environmental inspections should be strengthened after rain to reduce the density of vector mosquitoes; wear light colors when engaging in outdoor activities. Wear long-sleeved clothes and pants, and use government-approved mosquito repellents containing active ingredients such as DEET, Picaridin or IR-3535 to reduce the chance of mosquito bites.
