Dengue fever
Florida state health officials report three additional locally transmitted dengue fever cases during the past week, bringing the total for the year to 40.
New cases were reported in Broward, Palm Beach and Pasco counties. The forty cases reported are from the following counties: Broward, Hillsborough (3), Manatee, Miami-Dade (24), Monroe (3), Orange (2), Palm Beach (2), and Pasco (4).
In addition to the local transmission, nine new travel associated dengue cases were reported, bringing the total year to date to 548.
Oropouche fever
As earlier reported on Notes, sixteen cases of Oropouche fever were reported this past week in persons that had international travel.
This brings the total to 86 cases in 12 counties: Broward (3), Duval, Hillsborough (11), Lee (5), Marion, Miami-Dade (51), Orange (3), Palm Beach (2), Pasco (3), Polk (4), Sarasota, and St. Lucie.
All the cases are linked to travel from Cuba.
Nationally in the US, 90 travel associated cases have been reported, which include cases in California, Colorado, New York and Kentucky.
