According to the Hanoi Center for Disease Control (CDC), the number of measles cases in Hanoi remains complicated, and the number of hand, foot and mouth disease cases continues to record many cases.
According to the Hanoi CDC, from the beginning of 2025 to now, Hanoi has recorded 625 measles cases in 30/30 districts, towns, and cities, with no deaths, an increase compared to the same period in 2024. Patients are distributed by age group: 67 cases under 6 months (10.7%); 91 cases 6-8 months (14.6%); 70 cases 9-11 months (11.2%), 147 cases 1-5 years old (23.5%), 94 cases 6-10 years old (15.0%), 156 cases over 10 years old (25.0%).
Hanoi CDC stated that the number of measles cases has increased mainly in people who have not been vaccinated or have not been fully vaccinated. The number of cases tends to increase in the age group of 6-8 months, and it is forecasted that cases will continue to be recorded in the coming time.
Last week, Hanoi recorded 35 cases of hand, foot and mouth disease, patients were recorded in 16 districts, towns and cities; 30 communes, wards and cities, with no deaths, an increase of 1 case compared to the previous week. In 2025, Hanoi recorded 165 cases, with no deaths; an increase compared to the same period in 2024. Patients were recorded in 28 districts, towns and cities. During the week, no outbreaks were recorded, in 2025, 2 active outbreaks were recorded.
In addition, Hanoi recorded 3 cases of whooping cough in Bac Tu Liem, Dong Da, Ha Dong, no deaths. The cumulative year 2025 recorded 10 cases, no deaths, an increase compared to the same period in 2024. 1 case of tetanus in Soc Son (male, 58 years old, history of injuries caused by tree branches in the lower leg area), no deaths. Hanoi CDC has closely coordinated with relevant units to closely monitor the epidemic situation to promptly detect cases of the disease, organize investigations, isolate and handle the epidemic. Supervise the implementation of the measles vaccination campaign for children from 6 to under 9 months old in Thanh Xuan, Phuc Tho, Hoang Mai, Long Bien, Thanh Tri, Quoc Oai, Cau Giay, Thuong Tin.
As of February 27, 30/30 districts, towns and cities organized vaccination campaigns, resulting in 8,621/18,702 children being vaccinated (46% of the total number of children eligible for vaccination), of which 7,647 children were vaccinated at health stations and 974 children were vaccinated at service facilities.
Hanoi CDC continues to monitor the implementation of the measles vaccination campaign for children from 6 to under 9 months old and regular vaccination sessions in: Thanh Oai, Ung Hoa, Chuong My, Phuc Tho, Hoan Kiem, Bac Tu Liem, Dong Anh, Ha Dong, Hai Ba Trung.
District, town and city health centers continue to implement measles vaccination campaigns for children aged 6 months to under 9 months under the direction of the Hanoi People's Committee, Hanoi Department of Health and Hanoi CDC.
