In a follow-up on the dengue situation in Bangladesh, the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) in Dhaka now report 14,069 cases (hospitalizations) since the beginning of the year.
In the first 11 days of July, officials reported 3,773 cases.
Since the beginning of the year, the Barishal division has seen the most cases with nearly 6,000, followed by Chattogram with 2,000.
In 2025 to date, 54 deaths have been reported.
The country recorded 101,130 dengue cases, including 573 fatalities, last year, according to DGHS. Bangladesh witnessed its worst dengue outbreak in 2023 when it confirmed 321,179 cases and 1,705 fatalities.
