The Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) has issued an epidemiological update on the presence in the Region of the Americas of Oropouche Fever, a virus transmitted by vectors of the genus Culicidae (mosquitoes) and Culicoides (gnats), exposing habitual transmission of the same in communities rural and urban areas of Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, French Guiana, Panama, Peru and Trinidad and Tobago.
